A Research Study on the Impact of Relocation
The International Services Department is conducting research on the impact of relocation on arriving employees and users, including those coming from different countries as well as those coming from different parts of the United States.
We need your help!
The International Services Office is researching the process by which people adjust to a new location after relocating there for work. The goal is to learn about the issues and hardships that might occur during relocation, as well as about the adaption methods people successfully have used. We want to identify ways to make the transition more enjoyable, to ensure that new arrivals to Fermilab can achieve optimize their work performance, professional enjoyment and opportunities. Ultimately, we hope to implement simple systems and resources that incorporate successful coping strategies and ideas.
If family members also have relocated, we also appreciate the opportunity to speak with them, to better understand their experiences.
Please email or call me (x2586) to schedule a private interview appointment! I usually am at Fermilab Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11 am and 5 pm, but will work with you to find a time convenient to you.
Who am I?
I am a student at Aurora University studying Psychology and Human Resources. To gain experience in my future career, I am working at Fermilab. I hope to learn more about what people go through when they begin new jobs or move to new places, and what working in Human Resources is like generally.
